First started in the early 1990’s, the “Red Renner Memorial Work Week” is a chance for members to volunteer at Northern Tier by providing some sweat equity while enjoying the camaraderie with their fellow alumni and current staff. It’s a chance to make your mark on this priceless asset, Northern Tier.
Normally the week is scheduled around the last week of May and first week of June. Annually in the spring the sign-up is posted on the website and in newsletters. Volunteers can help for a day or a week. Meals and accommodations on the base will be provided at no cost. Bring your skills and enthusiasm and we will provide on-the-job training.
The work involves a variety of projects intended to preserve and enhance the Northern Tier programs and facilities. You will have the bonus of participating in training week activities as your interest and time permit. The “Seminar Day” is sponsored and staffed by your fellow members to provide additional education for trail staff in outdoor and guiding skills.
