Work WEEK AND STAFF TRAINING "SEMINAR dAY"

First started in the early 1990s, the “Red Renner Memorial Work Week” is a chance for SAA members to volunteer at Northern Tier by providing some sweat equity while enjoying the camaraderie with their fellow alumni and current staff. It’s a chance to make your mark on this priceless asset - Northern Tier High Adventure. 

The 10-day event is normally scheduled for the middle of May. Sign-up will be posted on the website and in newsletters annually each spring. Volunteers can help for a day or a whole week! Meals and accommodations on the base will be provided at no cost. Bring your skills and enthusiasm and we will provide on-the-job training. The work typically involves a variety of projects intended to preserve and enhance the Northern Tier programs and facilities.  

“Seminar Day” is held annually in June during the bulk of Northern Tier's summer staff training. This event is sponsored and staffed by your fellow SAA members, providing the opportunity for all Northern Tier staff to learn meaningful outdoor skills which support them in their roles and set them up for a successful summer season.
