2026 Director Nominations

The Charles L. Sommers Alumni Association, Inc.'s Nominating Committee appointed by the Board of Directors has nominated the following individuals to be included on the ballot for election to the Board of Directors for a three-year term (2027 through 2029):

Margaret Scheiner
Margaret Scheiner is an Active Life Member of the Charles L. Sommers Alumni Association. She currently serves as a Senior Program Manager at Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Margaret holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering from Cornell University and a PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Florida State University. In the summer of 2011 and 2013, Margaret was employed at Northern Tier as an Interpreter and was highly regarded by many as an outstanding and dependable staff member.

Ryan Tredinnick
Ryan Tredinnick is a Business Systems Analyst at First Citizens Bank located in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Ryan has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting & Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Ryan is the proud father of three. Ryan was employed at Northern Tier in 2012, 2013, and 2015. 

John Pape 
John Pape served at Northern Tier from 2016 in Ely through the fall of 2018 in Atikokan, working as an Interpreter, Medical Officer, off-season maintenance staff, and in trail staff management. Following his time at Tier, he spent time living in Idaho working on the Salmon River and as a snowmobile guide. John currently resides in St. Paul and works as a paramedic in the Twin Cities. He is excited to bring his deep connection to the Northwoods and diverse operational background to the SAA Board of Directors.

Ryan Sievert
Ryan Sievert first came to Northern Tier as an Interpreter in 2006. He was back as a Brigade leader and Interpreter in 2007 and 2008. After a couple summers off, Ryan returned to Northern Tier to work maintenance, first in Ely in 2011 and then as the Atikokan maintenance chief in 2012. A lifetime member of the Northern Tier Alumni Association, Ryan enjoys returning to base for the Northern Tier Alumni Reunions and loves sharing his passion for the north woods. Ryan holds an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ryan has more than 10 years of engineering experience in the Aerospace industry and currently serves as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for Safran.
